'WTF?' - The Kola Superdeep Hole
The story goes: Russian scientists drilled a 14 km hole in Siberia, and when they lowered a microphone into the hole (why?) they captured 17 seconds of hellish screaming and moaning, before the mic melted. 'WTF?' - Old Christmas Eve
First of all, the factual part. In the 16th Century, the calendar changed to bring it in line with the solar year. Read the details here .
